Okera Banks

Okera Banks is an American designer, entrepreneur, style expert, podcast host, and former celebrity stylist to Hollywood’s elite. As the visionary behind the Okera Banks Collection OTG Essentials (On-The-Go Essentials) and Signature line, she redefines modern travel wear with convertible designs that merge luxury, comfort, and versatility. Her collections cater to the sophisticated entrepreneur, fashion-forward trendsetter, and global traveler who demands effortless style without compromise.  

A native of Washington, D.C., and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, Okera earned dual degrees in Fashion Design, Merchandising, and Marketing from Clark Atlanta University. Before completing her studies, she honed her editorial eye in New York as an intern at Mirabella Magazine, where she later became Assistant Fashion Editor—developing her signature ability to blend American ease with European refinement through texture, tailoring, and bold expression.  

After relocating to Los Angeles, Okera quickly became a sought-after stylist and costume designer in film and television. Her innate sense of luxury style and relentless work ethic earned her features on E! Online, CNN, The Style Network, OK! Magazine, VH1, and TV One’s Sister Circle, where she was celebrated as a “go-to” style expert. Named one of Cosmopolitan Magazine’s recommended stylists in Los Angeles, her client roster has included icons such as Martha Stewart, Snoop Dogg, Tiffany Haddish, Anthony Anderson, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Ferguson, and Wanda Sykes. The transition from styling to fashion design unfolded organically.  

Today, her brand Okera Banks Collection OTG Essentials and Signature delivers convertible, travel-ready designs for men and women—pieces that effortlessly transition from day to night, business to leisure, and city to destination. Her work has graced New York Fashion Week, Los Angeles Fashion Week, and the NAACP Image Awards, supported by sponsors such as Toyota and the NAACP. Her collections are currently featured at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in partnership with HMS Host/Hudson by Alvota, as well as 28 Airport Agencies Certifications and on the Bank of America Marketplace by Seneca Women, with past placements including Saks Off 5th and select Los Angeles luxury boutiques. In 2024, the line was spotlighted in WWD, showcased on CFDA’s Runway 360 NYFW Platform, and featured in Agenda Magazine’s “Comfy Cozy” issue.
